Glenn Lewis

Canadian-born singer/songwriter Glenn Lewis' sensational debut for Epic, World Outside My Window, was like a breath of fresh air when it was issued on March 19, 2002, just two days before the first day of spring. The buzz had been building around Lewis due to the album's lead single, "Don't You Forget It," which has a strong Stevie Wonder influence. The singer freely lists Wonder, Donny Hathaway, and Gap Band-lead singer Charlie Wilson as some of his musical idols.

Mint Condition feat Charlie Wilson ( Gap Band )

Formed in the early '80s in Minneapolis and St. Paul, Mint Condition began as lead singer Stokley Williams, guitarist Homer O'Dell, keyboardist Larry Waddell, keyboardist/saxophonist Jeff Allen, keyboardist/guitarist Keri Lewis, and guitarist/bassist Rick Kinchen.

The six talented musicians combine a variety of influences and experiences to shape their own sound. Williams began playing classic West African instruments at the age of four, while O'Dell grew up listening to his father play blues bass and singing with him in a family group. Waddell played in a recording arts band at school and mastered keyboards by listening to jazz greats Oscar Peterson and Herbie Hancock. Exposed to his father's extensive jazz collection, Allen played keyboards and sax in local bands throughout his high school years, as Lewis was mastering keyboards, percussion, and guitar while attending school. Kinchen's first and strongest influence was his family, all of whom played instruments and encouraged his interest in music. He developed his skills as a bass player by listening to records by Stanley Clarke and Louis Johnson of the Brothers Johnson. Kinchen played in various bands in his native Chicago and performed at several productions at Kennedy-King College before moving to the Twin Cities.

The band was featured at the 1986 Minnesota Black Musician Awards program and built a strong core following for themselves in a five-state area (Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Dakota, and Nebraska) as a result of their dazzling, highly energetic live shows. Mint Condition came to the attention of Minneapolis soul producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis as a result of a showcase performance in 1989. The band had steady success beginning with the hits "(Breaking My Heart) Pretty Brown Eyes" and "Forever in Your Eyes" from their debut Meant to Be Mint, and with "Nobody Does It Betta" and "(U Send Me) Swinging" from their second album From the Mint Factory; they continued with the platinum success of the single "What Kind of Man Would I Be" from their gold album Definition of a Band. Kashif

Kashif Saleem (born Michael Jones in 1959) is an American multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter and record producer. Kashif became well-known from playing keyboards in the renowned funk band B.T. Express. He played synthesizer bass using the miniMoog while touring with the group. After leaving the band in the early 1980s, Kashif recorded demos with the band Stepping Stone, which led to his eventual solo signing with Arista Records.

Introduced to Arista by Gerry Griffith, its A&R director in 1983, his self-titled debut Kashif (1983) spawned the hits "I Just Gotta Have You (Lover Turn Me On)," "Stone Love," "Help Yourself to My Love," and "Say Something Love." With this release, Kashif was well received as an innovator in music, as R&B artists were only beginning to experiment with synthesizers and other electronic instruments. He is said to have been Arista Records' attempt to respond to Warner Bros. Records' Prince.

His other albums include Send Me Your Love and Condition of the Heart. On the album Love Changes, Exposé provided background vocals. 1989's Kashif, with the cover of the Four Tops' hit "Ain't No Woman Like the One I Got," "Baby Don't Break Your Baby's Heart," and "Are You the Woman."

As an in-demand writer/producer, Kashif can be heard on releases by Kenny G, George Benson, Evelyn "Champagne" King, Johnny Kemp, Melba Moore, Dionne Warwick, Giorge Pettus, Stacy Lattisaw, Exposé, The Wootens, Freda Payne, Whitney Houston, and others. His Grammy nominations are for the instrumentals "The Mood," "Call Me Tonight," "Edgartown Groove" featuring Al Jarreau, and "The Movie Song."

In 1994, Kashif received an invitation from the U.C.L.A. Extension program and created a course called Contemporary Record Production with Kashif. In August 1995, Kashif authored a book entitled Everything You'd Better Know About the Record Industry, as CEO of his Los Angeles-based Brooklyn Boy Books, Entertainment, and Information. In 1998, Kashif signed with U.K. label Expansion Records and his album Who Loves You was released that same year.

Elements Of Life

Elements of Life is a male R&B quartet that debuted in 1998. The group, based out of Washington, D.C, is comprised of Ike, Priest, Scooter and John.

The group Elements of Life came out in 1998 with their self-titled album. The album, off of the RCA label, is most recognized for the track 'Sweet Love' which was a remake of the Anita Baker classic.

Joe Thomas

Joe Thomas was one of five children and grew up in an environment filled with Gospel music. Both his parents are ministers. The Thomas family moved to Alabama when Joe was two and he grew up as an active member of the church and sang in the choir, played guitar and eventually directed the choir. In the late 1980s, he started playing in local bands in Alabama. He eventually moved to New York City to pursue a musical career.

While working in a gospel music store and singing in a church, Joe met producer Vincent Herbert and recorded a three-track demo. Joe released his debut album, Everything, in 1993. It spawned a number of hit singles, including the #10 R&B hit "I'm in Luv." Joe signed with Jive Records for his 1997 album, All That I Am, which reached No. 13 on the Billboard 200 album charts and No. 4 on the R&B charts. All That I Am eventually went on to sell over a million copies in the U.S.

Joe released his fourth album, My Name is Joe, in 2000. It became his most successful album, reaching No. 1 on the R&B charts and No. 2 on the Billboard 200. It eventually sold over three million copies. In 2001, his Better Days album was released, reaching No. 32 on the Billboard 200 and No. 4 on the R&B charts. His And Then ... album came out in late 2003; it reached No. 26 on the U.S. album charts and No. 4 on the R&B charts. Producers Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, The Underdogs, Cool & Dre, Tim & Bob and Bryan Michael Cox worked with Joe on his sixth album, Ain't Nothing Like Me, which dropped in April 2007.
